DOHA: Indonesian Ambassador to Qatar Rozy Munir has called on the faithful from their community in Qatar to be always willing to make sacrifices and sincerely uphold social and good relationships among them.

Munir was speaking to some 2,000 community members attending the Eid Al Adha prayer held at the school grounds of Language Institute yesterday which was jointly organised by the Indonesian Embassy and Permiqa (Indonesian Community Association in Qatar).

The prayer was led by Ustadz Fuady, a member of Indonesian community in Dukhan, who also delivered the sermon. In his sermon, Ustadz Fuady reminded the attendees that man should prepare to make sacrifices in obeying God’s command, as was experienced by Prophet Abraham.

Munir has encouraged community members to perform Haj since Qatar is just close to Saudi Arabia considering that there is a notable increase of 210,000 Indonesians pilgrims which constituted 7.5 percent of the total 2.5 million people who perform Haj this year.

The ambassador said he and his family wished Eid Mubarak to those who came for the prayer and at the same time expressed gratitude to the school management of Language Institute for allowing the use of the school premises and the Qatari government for their assistance and generosity.

On the occasion of Eid Al Adha, the Indonesian Embassy is closed, and it will resume its operation on Sunday.
